so, this was in the macrumours news list. What do you guys think from the screenshots? I've shot an email off to see if the app takes the contact/cal data from the iphone itself....can anyone hazard a guess?

Definitely looks interesting, somewhat like MobileMe action. Requires 100MB free space too, one big download I assume.

I wonder how much the price is gonna be for the Daylite Touch since their Daylite Productivity Suite already costs $189 :cool:

I expected that Daylite Touch wouldn't be cheap, but having to pay every year is just stupid.

The app is actually not nearly as large as 100MB, and the app itself is free. The UI looks nice, but it hardly compares to Pocket Informant in terms of features and ease of use at the moment. Daylite Touch was developed to help a team work well together, and it probably does that well.

By some freak Daylite have got round Apple's liscence agreement. The app may be free, but the liscence to use it with your database is $50/year. There is nothing useful that can be done with the app without connecting it to your own database as all it comes with is a demo database. I have no idea how they got this through approval.

After playing with it I would say that it is a very well made app.
It looks nice and it integrates with ical and adress book well.
That said it has some rather bit stumbling blocks.
For an app that is supposed to be the center of your life, it seems odd that you can import all your ical calendars but it doesnīt work with exchange. If you work in a big company exchange is often used and then it doesnīt make sense to have to check both your calendar in Daylite and the normal calendar app.

On top of that you have to have your own server running constantly to be able to work on more than one mac and/or your iphone.

If they had made it so that you could sync Daylite touch over MobileMe and didnīt have to have the server running it would be more acceptable to charge the 50$ IMO.

IMO this is ONLY for small businesses, that wants to build itself around Daylite. I am sure that it works really well for those companies, but I canīt see the use of it for individuals and people working in bigger companies.

I think I read on Marketcircle's site that their service was aimed at small businesses.

You can try the app for 30 days and connect it to your own database.
