Credit Card Software for the Mac

I am currently developing credit card software for the Macintosh. This software will allow retail, phone-order and Internet business's to accept credit cards on their Macintosh. As far as I know there hasn't been a stand alone Mac software that could do this since MacAuthorize which went out of business 4 years ago. I am trying to find out what the demand would be for this software. Anyone have any ideas what the best way to test this market would be?

I would like to see this. I'd also like to see a creditable business accounts package that doesn't tie in to one company, that will let me run a till and hook up to a stock control system using SQL. Then i can buy a couple of imacs, tills and scanners and have everything I need in one, integrated package.

Heck, I'd even sell it for you!

The benefit of software is it can be used to integrate with accounting and POS packages. It could also approve credit cards faster because it does not have to use a modem like a credit card terminal. It would also be cheeper than a terminal.

I only say this, because my company makes it. Take Charge is platform independent. We originally did this for the basic reason that there is not enough business software for Macs.

The nice thing about Macs and Cocoa is that if you develop with xCode, it's very simple to do SQL-related things in Java thanks to the JDBC interface it comes with. If you want to do some SQL development on the Mac, I'd highly recommend learning how to use JDBC because it abstracts out many of the finer details of databases, letting you focus on doing what you want done.
