So I was hanging out on the forums a week ago and saw that the 17" Pros now have an anti-glare option. I really prefer matte to gloss, and am planning on upgrading my 06 macbook to the new one within the year. Is there any chance apple will work down the ladder, and eventually offer anti-glare for the macbooks as well, or is this probably just going to remain a Pro option? Thanks for any of your opinions and speculations; this is a huge buying point for me.

They could, but I doubt it. No one will know until the time comes.

I doubt it as well. The new macbooks are nothing more than the iBooks. They were the last to go wide screen, the last to get the aluminum body, the last to have specs that were worth discussing and comparing to a MBP. I would say do not bet on it anytime soon. I do believe the MBP will eventually have a matte option at some point but not in the near near future as I believe that may piss some most recent purchasers off.

The MacBooks? Nah.
