View Full Version : Macbook not working with music

I need some help. Whenever I open iTunes, it starts doing the analyzing for gapless playback, and it freezes. It also prevents me from doing anything with other programs. I can only move my mouse, though that spinning ball is still there.

I have tried:
Deleting iTunes library file and reimporting everything.
Reinstalling Mac OS.
Reinstalling iTunes.

Any help?

I was about to suggest doing those, but if they haven't done anything, you might want to consider going to the Genius Bar or giving AppleCare a call.

I'm out of warranty[actually I'm not but its not the apple warranty, its a store warranty] and there is no Apple store in my city.

im sorry, but try to arrange something at an apple store closeby (next city over)

Try reinstalling the whole OS.

Use Archive and Install (this will save your previous data)
After that's done, go ahead and reinstall iTunes.

If this doesn't help. Try calling AppleCare.

I doubt AppleCare would talk to you if you're out of warranty... They're usually pretty strict about that.



Another thing to try (I know you won't want to do this) would be to copy your essential files to a flash drive and do a complete reinstall. That should solve your problem in ways the archive and install won't (an archive and install could be restoring some of the corrupted files that are causing iTunes not to work properly.)

Try asking a genius at an Applestore and explain him what's going on, maybe it's software related so they won't be too picky about applecare and help you out..

He said x store warranty, not the Apple 1-year warranty. So that may be valid still

If I tell them its a problem with the wifi hardware will they replace it?

I'm currently using a ethernet cable which sucks.

Who is "them"? Apple, or the other store you bought the warranty with?

The other store. And maybe apple, though my mac is out of warranty.
