when i try importing audio on to the timeline all i can hear is a beep. not the audio i want can someone please tell me what to do

Beeping means the audio has to be rendered. Don't use MP3 files as FC doesn't like them. You can use QT or iTunes to convert your MP3s into 16-bit, 48k AIFF files and those will work in FC.

'Nother audio problem in FCE

I've rendered audio and video of a short music clip, originally in divx.
Learned to resize it to get reasonably good image quality.
Audio, though, seems fine (volume/equalization) EXCEPT for every few seconds, a tiny (1 or 2 frame) drop out. You can hear it, and you can see it on the wave form- nothing there for just an instant, every 2 or 3 seconds.
Any ideas?
Hope this is ok here- first post and all that.
