i'd suggest looking for free loops on the web but most of those you will find to be hip-hop or dance/electronic related. your best bet for any kind of rock drums would definitely be sample CDs, like loops for Acid type stuff. you can get these at places like Guitar Center, Sam Ash, and all over the web.

Check out the iCompositions Downloads Section (http://www.icompositions.com/downloads) for a listing of Free Loops. iCompositions also highly recommends either of the Drums on Demand Apple Loops Volumes (http://drumsondemand.com/apple.htm) which are $49 each. We've reviewed Volume 1 here (http://www.icompositions.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=2).

I'm so glad I could help! You can get them overnighted if you want.

I use Beta Monkey's stuff for heavy drum loops - no one has the stuff they have and it's all the real drums.
I picked up their Vol. I and Vol. IV and haven't stopped using them in months - they're also really good to work with too.
