Audio output from G5

I'm trying to get some video files from my G5 into a Cannon XL1, since I don't have any mini DV deck, unfortunatelly via firewire I just got video but no audio, I was thinking to get a Toslink to RCA conector in order to get the results I need. Does anybody know how to get my video and audio succesfully from my G5 into a Canon XL1?

Toslink to RCA cable - do they even make those?? Last time I checked, TOSlink was made up of light beams and RCA was copper wire. How does that transfer??

lol, agreed... I'm sure its called OPTICAL out for a reason! Don't know how you can convert without a device of somekind!

you could always use the normal 1/8 inch jack as an audio out. That is far more compatible.
