Quick question, will a 512 mb ram chip from a slot loading iMac G3 500 work for an eMac G4 1GHZ SDrive model. Thanks!

Well, your iMac can take 133 MHz RAM, and your eMac can take 333 MHz RAM (DDR). I'd say no, but if it did the RAM would only work at the slower rate. You can get 512 MB stick for an eMac for $99. (http://dealram.com/prices/systems/22003/512MB.html)

iMac 500 MHz uses PC100 RAM. eMac uses PC133 RAM.

i believe they are compatible, although PC100 RAM will obviously run only up to 100 MHz, even on a 133 MHz bus. it's possible that i'm mistaken in that PC133 will run on PC100 but not the other way around, which is what you are trying to do...

the best bet, obviously, is to try it...

It'll work...I had an iMac G3 400 with a stick of PC133 in it, and it worked perfectly.
