I might be returning my machine because I have a $500 best buy gift certificate. I was wondering if BestBuy honors education discounts in their apple sections, like the Apple Store?

They do not, only apple online, apple retail, and in some cases buying it from the college store.

I don't think you understood the spirit of his question-- his $500 Best Buy certificate won't really help him at the Apple store.

They do depending on what you buy and who you talk to.
I went in yesterday to get the 2.4 macbook but they would not do it as it was below their cost. they said the 2.0 they would be able to do.
Though I bet if I was to get the warranty they would match it as that would make up their cost.

Same experience for me, it depends on the store, I bought a year ago.
