So we got a new MBA for work. Very nice computer.

Migrated my boss's files via wifi from her old iBook. (The MBA's FirstRun SetUp hung every time it connected to our Time Capsule). Everything fine. Ran all system updates, fully updated. 10.5.6.

Now to do an overnight TC backup of the Air. Connected no problem. Started TC backup. The first 4GB went fine, 21GB more to go. Set Power Saver to never shutdown. Power connector working fine, battery fully charged. Went home.

Came back in the morning. Eh? The Air is in hibernation, have to wake it by pressing the power key and waiting for it to load RAM back from the HD (grey screen, loading bar at bottom). Battery is completely and utterly flat. Battery meter shows 0%, 9 hours to recharge. (which went down to 4 hours within a few minutes.)

Time Machine shows it backed up only 12GB, out of the 25GB, then failed to complete the backup.

What happened? How come it switched to battery operation despite being connected to the mains? There was no power cut in the night. The other macbook, which was running something, stayed awake all night no problem. Can anyone help? Hope I haven't damaged the battery.
