OK, I have enabled PHP4 on my client version of MacOS X and have installed PHPBB2 but when i goto http://myipaddress/phpbb2/install.php (This is not a real link!) everything works but i dont really know what a "database" is or any other thing listed under database... Can anyone please help me? I would really like to have my own messageboard hosted off my macos x machine. :-)

P.S. does anyone know any free hosting that will allow me to install and run PHP/CGI scripts/apps?

I'm guessing you're going to need something like a mysql database to run this thing with. see this thread:http://www.macrumors.com/forums/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=5566
