We currently have 4 G3's and 1 G5 (though their titles don't indicate that status).

They're all Mods as well as Demis or Gods.

i personally think they should revise the system. make it more reliant to the new processors/models etc.

You're welcome to suggest that in Site & Forum Feedback (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=66). The titles are relevant though, as they refer to the entire processor history of Apple. But like the saying goes, "never say never." :)

Or what if you never owned a mac, but you're on here because you have iPods/iPhones/Apple T.V.
And then once you become to the "Mac enthusiast" level, but you don't have a mac....

All of those would be excellent methods for arn and friends to find more contributors; I would hate to have something so horrible beneath my username.

Why does it really matter? Nobody even pays attention to those titles unless they're a) looking for a moderator, or b) are getting ready/just advanced.

You mean Xeon. Sorry to get all nit picky, but my Mac Pro would be offended.
By the time people start accumulating posts they tend to feel that contributing is kind of in order.

I think it's fine the way it is. Some people may be a little confused, but it's basically history. Can't forget about what made Apple what it is.
