Since I have the new unibody MBP, with 10.5.6, I guess I won't be able to unlock/jailbreak my iphone 2g, so will it work if I use another laptop with Windows Vista?

Also, once unlocked/jailbroken, simply putting my T-Mobile sim card, from my T-Mobile phone should make the iphone work, right?

Thanks!!

Or a USB hub.

10.5.6 on my 08 MBP works fine in DFU... I think it's the unibody USB controller, not the OS update. Hence why the USB hub solution works?

I fixed mine by replacing a few kext files. Piece of cake. I'm running a Mac Pro by the way and my DFU was broken in 10.5.6, but as I said... I fixed it... I'm good.

I tried that method and completely hosed my USB ports, keyboard, and trackpad on my MacBook. I just keep Windows handy now.

i found this automated app that automatically replaces the kexts.

It even has the kexts supplied.

DFU AGAIN!

I have a Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 as a bootcamp partition and I have that same partition also as a virtual machine in VMWare Fusion; do you guys think, it will work if I did the unlocking/jaikbreaking in VMWare or bootcamp?

I have a unibody MBP 10.5.6

You must have done something wrong.
