Hi, I am looking to buy BOSE Companion 5 to use with my iPod.

However, it includes only an USB cable to connect to the computer. But I don't want it. Is it possible to connect BOSE companion 5 directly to my iPod?

Thanks.

from the cnet review
Connector Type
*1 x USB
*1 x Audio line-in ( Mini-phone 3.5 mm )
*1 x Headphones ( Mini-phone 3.5 mm )

and from bose.com
Handy control pod includes volume, single-touch mute, headphone jack and auxiliary input
Handy control pod houses volume control, single-touch mute, headphone jack and connection for a second audio source such as an MP3 player.
so yes you can hook your iPod directly to it, you need to go to radio shack or elsewhere and get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable (looks like the plug on your headphones, but one on each end of the cable)
try reading a bit further.

I highly recommend the Bose Companion 5!

You absolutely can use it with your iphone and ipod but as you do own a macbook, do yourself a favour and give it a try! fire up a dvd and enjoy,...
i think its phenomenal for a 2.1 system......

good luck

Don't get the 5. Listen to the Companion 3 first.

I absolutely agree that you should certainly listen to both the 3s and the 5s at the same time in an A/B comparison setting. I did and that is what convinced me to pay the extra for the 5s! 😉
