I thought this was going to be a variation of the Million Dollar Bond Note thing again, wasn't.

Way above the $100,000 bill used by the Treasury Department long ago, or the old $10,000 bills used by the banks.

---

Million Dollar Special Issue US Dollar bills generated by Canadians, what a fun thing to hand to people (worth $1 Canadian Retail).

I have always had a low opinion of the people at Wal-Mart.

Did the lady think that the register would have $999,997 in change?

I laughed when I saw this story at cnn.com. What I don't get is how someone who has the skills to make a decent looking note lacks the common sense to realize that no such thing exists. For years now $100 has been the highest denomination available.

Coincidentallly, Spymac (I know, I know) today has a graphic of another fake note--a $1000 bill--on their front page to accompany some promotion.

They used to have $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000, and $100,000 bills.

But not all of them were public notes.

Right. But not recently. Precious few are in circulation and would be bound to attract attention--precisely the sort of thing a counterfeiter doesn't want.

Her mug shot would certainly make a bill like that unlikely. That's an on the ball clerk. It goes back to my nursing training, if the amount used is larger than usual, then it should be a red flag for close scrutiny and questioning.

I have $1,000,000 $50,000 and $100,000 notes from the bank my dad used to work at. They would frame the large money certificates that were void or canceled. I have always wanted to photoshop the VOID stamp off it. And get peoples' reaction.

Not running on all cylinders there...

$1,000,000 - $1,675 = $997,325

Sure, WalMart has that on hand......

D

What an absolute friggin idiot. Even 1,000 dollar bills have been out of circulation for years and years. And did she REALLY think that Wal-Mart was going to give her CHANGE for a million dollar bill? My god my god.

My god. What people will do.

EDIT

Heres an interesting link. I guess there actually WAS a 100,000 dollar bill back in the day...

On the ball? More like, one step smarter than a garden snail. Even a complete idiot would know there is no such thing as a million dollar bill. Could you imagine the clerk trying to make change? She must have a lot of faith in her Wal-Mart to think they have over a million in cash at the store...

I have never been in a Walmart.

I was acquainted with a man who's son had used his computer to print $20 bills. He got caught and was turned over to the Secret Service. The father happened to work at a university and it was kept quiet. High tech is just making people do stupid things. When I was in high school the big thing was to cruise a restaurant.

I used to live about 40 miles from that little piece of nowhere called Roanoke Rapids...The place whose most significant event was depicted in The Smoking Gun: The passing off of a $200 bill portraying our most-loved leader, that president's president, master of the galaxy and blaster of the cosmos, George Walker Bush.

I hope someone can find a picture of those $1000 bills, I know they exist, I can't believe how stupid that woman was to think she could get away with that.... Jeez intelligence hits a new low.
Wait I found one look at this;)

Ha ha haaa!
Well heck, okay, as long as we're posting pics...

The $100,000 bill was actually a Gold Certificate and was never available to the general public. Incidentally, it's illegal to own a $100,000 Gold Certificate (and yes, I want one. :D )
