NOOO! This is not a 16:10 ratio monitor, which could wreck havoc with your computer's graphic card. Computers use 16:10 ratio as the industry standard. HDTVs use the 16:9 ratio as industry standard. This monitor is the latter of the two standards. I recommend 1920x1200 resolution for 23"/24" monitors. If you look closely, the resolution is 1920x1080 (which is 16:9) not 1920x1200 (which is 16:10).

Please PM me in about 2-3 weeks time if you don't mind so that I don't forget to let you know. Can't wait for Dell to ship it.... too bad it takes long

Nice looking specs including HDMI but the previous poster is right - that's the difference between the Ultrasharp 24 and the non Ultras - the resolution should be 1920 x 1200. However, can't argue with the price.

Dang, looks like I went shopping for a monitor a day too late lol.

That monitor is back to 319 CAD now. Still the cheapest option around it seems.

Sorry if i steal the thread but I do have a question. I'm in the market for a 24" Monitor that I plan to use mainly for my PS3, and maybe occasionally use my MacBook hooked up to it as well. Does anyone have any recommendations? I do want to keep it as cheap as possible, and I really don't care about what panel type it uses (since I want to keep it cheap), all it needs to have is HDMI, for the PS3.

Thanks

Dell SP2309W... currently on sale ($60 off). If I didn't have to pay rent, it would be mine already.

FYI, glossy screen.

There is a cheap model offered by Acer and it has HDMI as well. Reasonable spec to the price

I actually seem to like the S2409W better. I don't need all the extra things the 2309 has, and it's $50 more expensive and the 2409. The only advantage the 2309 has is the higher resolution, but if I'm just using it as a screen for my PS3 99% of the time, it wont make a difference.

Not exactly:
Higher resolution, 98% colour gamut, 2ms response time, webcam/mic, HDMI, swivel stand, and glossy screen (I count that as a plus).

To each their own, but personally, I would pay the extra $50 for the above. Guelphites unite!
