MBA Rev 2 take apart (due to spill)

Sorry I may have given the wrong impression.
I think basically it's a crap shoot at the genius bar. The first guy was nice enough - but he might not have actually gotten down to the logic board. She said he was in the back room for <10 mins. I don't think you could tear it down and put it back together in that time. Also, as I took it apart I noted that it was pristine - it really didn't look like anyone had touched any of the connections, tape, etc. So I think he took off the back, maybe saw residue somewhere, and assumed it was coffee (she had only told him she spilled on it at that point, not that it was wine).
The guy I talked to this morning though (when I had the logic board out of the machine) gave it a relatively decent look over and thought everything looked pretty good (but, as noted, he said - all it takes it one drop).
FYI, you won't be able to read that hard drive using any kind of enclosure that I've seen. It uses a fairly uncommon connector. I'd ask the Apple techs about the best way to do a hard drive data recovery. It isn't a standard SATA connector.

You know I thought that same thing, but the other day I was looking for a sata-II to LIF connector. I found a USB enclosure on eBay that said it was for ZIF/LIF specifically for Hitachi and Samsung (I think). Said no other hard drives would work. Maybe will maybe not. I am not real sure.
But there is a chance it will. I don't personally have one. I am going to buy a MBA and wanted to see if I could put another brand SSD in it... no luck according to some people that discussed it in a thread here. But that USB enclosure just might work.

Based on what you have written and shown, with that keyboard cover/enclosure, I would not be surprised if there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this MBA.
If it were my MBA, I would open that keyboard apart and dry/clean all of that. I think your MBA is fine. I understand the precaution, but I don't think reassembling it all today will bring a different result from waiting a week or year.

Wow that's interesting. Might have to get one of those in case we have someone with an Air that has a hardware failure.

should use ifixit.com to dissasemble it, and reassemble it, however theres no reason why if it was turned off immediately after water impact, and left to dry correctly, it shouldnt work again. Ive dropped my iphone in my swimming pool twice and it still works perfectly. The biggest mistake people make is trying to turn things on straight away afterwards because theyre worried if they still work 🙄
