Has anyone used an classified ad software?
A freelance client of mine is interested in one and I was wondering if anyone could make any recommendations?

Here is a web page full of open source PHP classified ad managers that support a multitude of database formats to help you in your search:

http://www.opensourcescripts.com/dir/PHP/Classified_Ad_Managers/

Also, Joomla, which is a popular and powerful open source CMS, has plugins just for this purpose. Check 'em out here (requires Joomla):

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/search/1/classifieds

Wait for some other replies as I've never used any of the above, although they're well known solutions worth checking out before you make your final decision. Others here might be able to focus you a little more than I did.

Thanks for your reply. I've seen GeoClassifieds receiving some good reviews, but I'd love to hear of any first hand experience if anyone has this or any other software used.

I've used Drupal in the past, never Joomla though. I'll look into it, thanks.
