View Full Version : Burn macbook os on Pc?

Hi my macbooks harddrive died so I installed a new drive and I just purchased a macosx leopard on ebay but I also downloaded a mac os tiger and would like to know if theres anyway I can burn on a windows pc and use it till I get my osx leopard and what program would I use

Since what you're suggesting is illegal, I'll merely say how to do this in general :p
1: Download .iso file
2: Burn to DVD with Roxio/Nero/any other ISO burning app
3: Put DVD into computer needing installation.

It also can't even be DONE to a generic PC in general, besides the illegal part. :p

Sure it can. He just wants to create an installation disc. If the download was a standard format .iso file it won't be an issue.

Yup, just use any .iso writing program... there are several free ones out there.

I uderstand its illegal but I dont think it will be an issue besides I am new to apple os laws and stuff but technically I already purchase the software I mean with windows it doesnt matter as long as you have the license so if the feds show up at my door ill just show them my reciept after purchasing mac os leopard I have no intention of staying with tiger I just want to be able to use my mac I have used ubunto live runs pretty nice but I want to use mac os ;)
and I understand I can burn it but im just wondering will it install

Also, Leopard is a large file and is on DL media.

You know it is illegal and you want to do it anyway? Why should anyone here help you? Forum rules specifically say don't encourage piracy, so you shouldn't even be asking.

dont you have your restore discs, or the leopard instal disc?
edit: why use tiger if you have leopard
no its not that easy to install tiger on pc hardware. you say you downloaded tiger which means you got it illegally

he purchased leopard. He pirated a copy of tiger that he wants to install and use until his purchased copy of leopard is delivered.
