Here it is: iStat for iPhone (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=303034517&mt=8)
I've been waiting a long time for this.
Basically, it lets you remotely monitor your Mac's activity. Temperature, memory, disk usage... and so on. The UI is absolutely beautiful and it looks as if it belongs on the iPhone. You can also get the statistics about your iPhone and even free up memory (like Free Memory (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=294768681&mt=8)).
I am so glad this came out.

Grr... this looks really cool but I don't feel like paying for.
Looks like I'll have to wait until I get a gift card.

I can't connect it to my MacBook Pro. Remote connects with iTunes so it's not a network issue. The IP's right, so the only thing it can be is the port number.
Anyone else had any issues?

Been waiting for awhile for this app as well. Downloaded as soon as i saw it. Brilliant app. Beautiful. The UI is simply perfect for the iPhone. The info is great, the remote access is great as well. Have been using the computer version for years and just couldn't pass up the iPhone version. I recommend it 100%.

What would be the point? You couldn't see the stats anyway...
---
Bought the app... I love it!
I was surprised by the ability to see stats of the phone though. :)
:apple:
EDIT: tried that whole "free mem" thing...
I had 3MBs free... after about 5 minutes of 'working' the phone crashed and rebooted. hahahah
oh well... Tried it after that (with 36MB free) and it didn't crash on me.

As a user of iStat pro dashboard widget, I have been waiting for this one as well.
Downloaded it as soon as I saw it... I can't remember when's the last time that I have done that.
But that's probably because I don't have an app that can terminate Safari/mail running in memory yet...
It would be even cooler if all I needed to do was access the stats via the dashboard widget since I happen to keep that on all the time.

how would you not be able to see the stats if it was right there on your screen?
i would like it to be easily accessible for my server.
i think easy accessibility is the point.

Sorry, I misunderstood your request. I though you wanted it to run as a background process or something while the phone was locked (as in the screen was turned off)

Most likely if it's some sort of server. If we had servers made since the birth of Christ at work, this may be a neat thing for our IT guy to have -- if he'd ever use it. But that's what I'm assuming.

Eventually that might be possible. iStat pro, iStat nano and iStat menus are all based on very similar code.
EDIT: tried that whole "free mem" thing...
I had 3MBs free... after about 5 minutes of 'working' the phone crashed and rebooted. hahahah
We'll keep working on that. Hopefully it can be improved in the next version.

The "Free Memory" app crashes if you have under 4MB free...sounds like it might be the same for iStat then? Too bad. Nice looking app in any case.

Nicely coded app. The function isn't godly, but it's not a a developer trying to make a quick buck.

Yes, some people will complain about the price. Seeing how iStat menus, nano, & pro is FREE, I am more than willing to pay $1.99; modestly priced, for this app on the iPhone.

The app is well worth it. I used to use free memory, but this app is just soo much better. You get much more info, and i also clears more memory. Once I had 15 mb free, cleared it to 21 with free memory and then to 46 with istat! Works really well, all though I don't use it with my mac. On quick question what's wired memory? page ins? page outs? Yes I'm a noob sorry =]

If you're hosting a web server on your Mac. I believe there is a co-location service (web server rack farm) that gives this app away free so their customers can keep tabs on their own Mac.
There are times when I want to know the temperature, etc., of my computer while I'm in the same room. This is a neat tool. And I just bought Free Memory!

We use it on our webserver (a Mac Mini hosted with Macminicolo.net). It might also be handy for people who have a Mac media center (me again!). In the future we'd love to add Linux and maybe Windows server monitoring too (a lot of web servers run Linux).
In those cases, stuff like HD space and network traffic are very handy to know (running out of HD space can be an issue with servers that aren't being closely monitored).

http://www.macminicolo.net/ is the company. We haven't had anything to do with them prior to finding hosting for Bjango. They've been brilliant so far, so we started talking about iStat and what our plans were... they were very happy to work out a deal where every Macminicolo customer gets 5 free copies of iStat.
When we say "free", we mean: you buy it, then send Macminicolo your account name from inside the app, then they deduct the amount from your next bill. More info here: http://bjango.com/help/istat/macminicolo/

I'm gonna buy it. I have a Mac Mini as my media center too.
I will also look into Macminicolo.net as I'm not thrilled with my hosting provider (1&1).
Let me know if you plan to add Solaris support (I worked for Sun for 16 years) and this would be useful for some of my colleagues!

I downloaded it and think its great!
I use my Mac Mini as my entertainment server now. It also does a bit of Handbraking. I leave it to do various tasks while I'm at work.
It's great to be able to monitor how the Mac Mini is performing while I'm away.
The iPhone status part is good too. It never crashed on me when Freeing Memory, I only had 1Mb free before performing that.
It's been said before but it'll be nice to see iPhone battery information displayed too.
Fantastic app!!

Definitely am going to buy this app, it looks great and I love the Dashboard widget on the mac :). Being able to see the iPhone battery information would be amazing just like the coconutBattery app for the mac.

I Really like the app, its well made, and the GUI is one of the best i have seen on the iPhone so far.
Also, i cant get the Remote monitoring to work, im not sure what IP to enter, i put in the one on iStat on my MBP, but i got the 'X'
But then again, i cant get Remote to work either!

I've purchased this app and it's pretty neat.
One quick question though, how does one remotely monitor their Mac? Do I need to be running OS X Server? It works fine on bonjour, but I'm not sure what to do to get a remote server going.

There are two ways of remotely monitoring your Mac. The first is having the iPhone and the Mac on the same wifi network and using bonjour. That's quick and easy.
The next is to monitor using the cell network on the iPhone. What I had to do was type in my Mac's IP address into Safari on the Mac. This gave me access to my wireless routers setup page. I then had to tell the router to leave a particular port open which was gonna be used by iStat. That worked fine.
Remotely monitoring works a treat on both 2G and 3G.

i can only remotely monitor my mac remotely if i set my firewall to allow all incoming connections, which i'd rather not do in the long run.
does anyone know how to configure the firewall in leopard to allow incoming connections from port 5109?
EDIT: I reinstalled iStat Server and it worked properly with the firewall this time.

Using an Airport Express?
Have you read this:
http://bjango.com/help/istat/portforwarding/
And this:
http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=889
Settings need to be such that port 5109 forwards to port 5109 (assuming you have left iStat Server's port settings alone).

What's the deal with the temps being so freakin' high in iStat for the iPhone but, looking at iStat Pro on the Mac, the temps look normal....
Edit, nevermind... I was looking at the degrees in Fahrenheit

This is actually a pretty cool app. It does require the "server" component be installed on your mac (obviously) in order to read data from a remote pc. I wrote a quick review on it. I'm already using it to monitor my macbook cpu and mem usage... pretty nifty.
