Last night I finally purchased my first new Mac and my first new computer since 1997, a 1GHz eMac with SuperDrive and a gig of RAM. :)
Going from my old computer, a Power Mac 7200/75 to this thing is like going to a Lingenfelter Twin-Turbo Corvette.
iTunes rocks, too!
Very, very cool computer.
Just thought I'd share the joy.

P.S. I hope I posted this to the right forum. If not I apologize.

SNIP.
Congratulations. A gig of ram should definetly make Panther roar on the eMac.

After ages of talking about it, the little woman and I went to the computer store a couple of days ago and walked out with Dual G5 1.8Mhz and a 17" studio monitor for me and an iPod mini for her.
Life is good.
Still gotta keep my Windows/Lunix PC around for gaming though.
I still cannot believe how quiet the G5 is compared to the wind-tunnel that was my PC.

Congratulations to all those getting new Macs!
For those that are switchers double congratulations to you! I switched myself 1 1/2 years ago and never looked back.
We now realize that there is a better computer experience out there!
Good Luck to All

I usually get off much cheaper than an iPod mini. A pair of shoes usually does it. She's like a G5 in that new shoes must be added in pairs. :D

Guess it should have been "Dull 1800Khz" superunderclocked G5. Incredible battery life, no noise or heat problems :D

Congrats on the new eMac!
I'm still using a nearly three-year-old iBook - wish I could afford to update!
Enjoy it!
