I don't know about everyone else but im sick of this company GP Apps spamming the app store with their "One Touch Apps." I mean seriously, 15 PAGES of this crap?! That's 180 apps!!!

nah, not going to do anything whether i type it here or to Apple. Just a quick rant because I was looking at Lifestyle recent releases and had to scroll through about 30 of their "apps"...

wow that's crazy.

surprised they don't have alphabet applications in the education section. Each letter sold separately

I totally agree. All their apps have only like one single useless function and cost a buck each. "Burger Lover"?! "Bored in Meeting?"?! "DialTextEmail "Escort Service"?! (OK, I made that one up) :D But freakin' seriously! Then come the 5,000 pages of all the "Note To ___ " apps!!! There are plenty of REAL apps that can do everything all 180 of these do and aren't as retarded.

I see no reason to blame them, first off, some clown is out there paying for this crap, otherwise they wouldn't spend the time making all these. As someone who's put a few apps up, I can tell you no matter how small the app, it's still a "process" and isn't fast.

I see no reason to blame them

Lack of creativity and a general disregard for the app store come to mind

It is really annoying. It's getting to be too much to weed through all the crappy apps out there too. There are so many different versions of same thing. I can't even be bothered anymore. The only way i pick up a new app now is through Youtube reviews. Subscribe to a few reviewers and go by that.

I agree with the latter, but the former logic would mean you condone spam and junk mail heartily.

opticalserenity is right. It aint no easy task to get an app up there. The process is quite long and painful (I have 3 up there)

Still I agree that this is takin the piss. They're knocking other apps off the first page and killing sales.

Why doesn't Apple stop all this ***** from getting into the AppStore? It's horrible.

I should know better after being in the IT field for a long time, but I assumed that the apps with high ratings were going to be safe enough....no dice. I download a game for iPhone three days ago, and every day since then I have been getting spam from fake online-pharmacy companies every 45 minutes or so.

Apparently Apple doesn't really cares about what's going on in the app store, or what the apps are doing. Either that, or someone at Apple is selling email address lists to phishers and scammers.

There's a lot of App Store Spam in the photo apps section as well (of which I might have a vested interest), although maybe not 15 pages worth.

One developer I've been following is ideveloperslab. They've released a bunch of mediocre photo apps under their brand, as well as a bunch under several umbrella brands. The apps all have similar quality (or lack of) and functionality in many cases.

App Spam undermines the confidence people have in the App Store, especially if someone new to iPhone gets burned by crap apps. They also, in many cases, use up valuable chart slots, stealing rankings from more worthwhile apps.

Just my $0.02....
