Mulitplayer iPhone App Without WiFi Point?

Is this possible? Can I write a game which is played by more than one person over the wifi in and iphone, but without a wifi point?

Not to my knowledge, or at least not without the sort of low-level access you'd need to the wireless hardware (without jailbreaking at any rate). I'd be pleased to be proven wrong though!
