"in review" Status 7 weeks or more

I submitted a App on 3. Dez 2008 to the AppStore.
The status of the Application is still "in review".
Apple doesn't answer one e-mail.


I'm not sure if I should continue putting more investment (time & money)
in the iPhone. That kind of behavior is not acceptable.
Plus considered that I paid Apple for this Service by entering
the developer programm.

Which paragraph in the SDK legal agreement makes this unacceptable?

Does you app have any features, functions, or interesting behavior that would make it difficult to thoroughly review to the all guidelines in the HIG and all the limitations in the SDK agreement?

Ah, the black hole otherwise known as the App Store approval process. You probably have a better chance of finding out who is locked up in Guantanamo Bay than finding out what's going on with your app. It sounds like Apple has found something wrong with your app - some useful feature/function that Apple feels iPhones users shouldn't enjoy. I do agree with you though on one point. You did pay money to be able to develop this app and they should at least treat you with a little respect due to this. As for your time developing the app, that is a gamble every iPhone app developer has to unfortunately take. It's too bad.

And yes, tell us about this app...in hypothetical terms, of course. :D

I write for iPhone Life Magazine (www.SmartphoneMag.com/iPhone/Todd.Bernhard) so I interviewed them at the Consumer Electronics Show. They have a petition to ask Apple for more disclosure on review status.

Now admittedly, this app does some tricky things with your phone calls, so I could see AT&T objecting. It gives you a new number, which can be forwarded to your iPhone by default, or a landline when you wish (battery running low, etc.) and it's GPS-aware so it knows if you are near your office phone or home phone and transfers calls (transparently to the caller for an in-progress call)!

Pretty cool, but they could have seen this delay coming.
