My battery life time indicator is all over the place!

I've had my unibody 2.0 since November. It's always said 5 hours or so when i open it up fully charged. This week it's started fluctuating wildy. While typing this post it's gone from 3 hours 23 mins to 4 hours and five mins....it started at 2 hours....now it's up to 4...very odd.


Any ideas on why this has started happening all of the sudden?

When is the last time you calibrated your battery?

It adjusts the time remaining number according to current load on the machine.

Say, you opened it up and went browsing the web, the number will be 4-5 hours. But then you loaded up a DVD and started ripping it with Handbrake (100% CPU usage) and the number will drop to 1.5-2 hours. But you stopped after a couple of minutes and went back to browsing, so the number will be 4-4.5 hours again.

It makes perfect sense..it's just behaving differently than it has in the past.
