RAM Macbook 3,1 Help!

I have already installed the RAM (4 GB), 2GB in each.

However, sometimes when I start the MacBook up, the LED light turns on, and an alert sound is produced by my MacBook.

This sometimes happens, and other times don't, for some reason.

This is the old white macbook from late 2007.

Thanks for any help for finding out what's wrong!
