And Master of Puppets.

For some reason importing these two albums always gives me problems.
iTunes cannot seem to import the last songs of these albums.
Everything else comes fine, just the last songs and iTunes hangs.
It will start importing it, but hangs every single time.

Even when I try to just play the CD's, it won't read the last few minutes of the song.
Now, I know it is not scratched or anything because my car audio can play it fine.
In fact, I was even able to import it some time ago in my PC laptop.
Is it something with iTunes 8?

Oh, and for those wondering why I just don't grab the one from my pc, I want to import it at a higher bit rate.

And my new machine is an iMac.

Thanks

Have you tried playing the albums under VLC or some other app to rule out hardware issues with the SuperDrive? I pulled out the two albums and am playing Damage, Inc. now though iTunes 8.0.2 on my Mini's SuperDrive (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846). Not hearing any skips. Same now with Dyer's Eve.

I never bothered using iTunes to rip songs. I use Exact Audio Copy with the LAME encoder at 256 VBR and then have iTunes add the files to its library. That's EAC's only job and it does it well. It is Windows, though.

Thanks for the advice.
But any solutions for a Mac?

I have the PC at my place and he only has the iMac at his.
It's also this pride thing, he'd like to be able to rip it on his Mac.
He's contacted Apple already, not sure what they recommend though.

So, you are saying it's the drive that's the problem?
Is this a known issue?

Thanks again
