I have my movies from home on my macbook here at college to watch when there is not much going on. My friends and I are getting tired or sitting on a couch to watch a moive on my mac. So my television is bigger and I work to how that up. Is there any sort of cord that I need to do this? Where can I get it? Where do I plug it in? Thanks

it depends which MacBook you have (plastic vs. aluminum) and what kind of inputs your TV has (red/white/yellow, HDMI, etc.).

He has a plastic one, and I just assumed HDMI. If it's a TV that requires component cables, I don't know of any adapter.

(Mini-DVI to video)

Yep, but that's composite, not component.

Component is the one with individual video cables for red, green, and blue.

That's why you buy an adapter from the Audio Out to the Audio In in the TV (Red/white) those are fairly cheap at your local Radio Shack or electronics store.

That's the one that I use to hook up my MB to my old-as-hell TV. There's S-Video as well as an old school video out. You just grab some cheap Radio Shack A/V cables and hook up the Video and you're good to go. Not certain, but I have a feeling this is what the OP is looking for.
