Dragging Icons

Two days ago I installed Maya 5 onto my system (and have since uninstalled it), and after doing so, I've been unable to drag any icons on my desktop or in folders or in any context really. How can I solve this annoying little problem?

Sounds like a permissions problem, rebuild them.

Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility>click boot drive>click repair permissions
