White MacBook goes up to 90°*C when idle

This seems to happen about once a week. The fan racks up to full speed, adn the temperature hovers around 85-90°C. When I try to shut down, it just gets stuck on that spinning wheel on top of my desktop picture.

Anyone know what causes this?

Activity Monitor -> All Processes -> Sort by CPU%

Take a look at that and your system logs.

Seems to be a process called "mount_hfs"...
