iOS Testing applications in device using sdk 2.0

Actualy, I am doing the processs for distrubuting application,
When i am doing the step building your application with xcode distribution.I stucked with the problem in code signing identity,
One guy suggest me to check the version of my OS,
I am using sdk 2.0
In portal they mentioned to select device iphone 2.2.
So only i am asking,Can we build application in using sdk2.0 ,for testing in app device.
(I am in confusion whether the certificates are working in 2.2, because i got certificates in the december 2008 only)
