New or Refurbished 30" ACD at discount

I'm trying to find either a new or refurbished 30" Apple Cinema Display. Any ideas? The best price I've found so far is through Apple's Education Store (I'm still a student): $1599. I know they used to sell refurbs on apple.com but I haven't seen any in a while.

Isn't a Student Discount price less than a Refurb price?

Check out your local Craigslist if you don't mind owning an used ACD.

There was one Craigslist posting for here in Tampa but it was from three weeks ago and I haven't received an email back.

I'm not sure what the refurbed price is/was. I'm assuming that people got hip to the fact that Apple overcharges by a huge margin. I'm stuck looking for one because the current Gateway 30" that I have does not work at all with my new MBP/dual-link dvi adapter (biggest piece ever).

Give eBay a peek while you're at it. I always see some decent deals for a used 30" ACD there.

I don't think it's fair to compare a 30" ACD to a 30" Gateway-- but you already know that, right? 😉
