I'm heading out of town tomorrow, and normally I print off Mapquest directions. However, I figured I'd give my iPod touch a workout and see who the maps feature works on it. I've found my location, and I've got a map pulled up. However, there doesn't appear to be a way to save this specific map so that I can call it up again at a later time (this is a place I may go to a few times, and having the map handy would be really nice!)

Is this not possible?

The only functionality I've found so far is the ability to save the list of directions (page corner>List).

When you close maps, it remembers the directions, which has always been suitable for my needs. Just not the pictures of the map.

While that sounds like it would be easy, it's a pain in the neck compared to what saving a map file within the app would be like. It appears that the map stays in the cache as a long as I don't mess with anything else, though.
