Plenty of shares, considering forbes's slam today, and it's resulting $1+ loss.

Sold my last 100 shares at $28 last week. :D

I'll probably get back in when it's down around 25 or so.

Maybe.

Acquired my first shares as a birthday gift when I turned 19 (right before the last boom that resulted in a split). Bought more shares about a year later, and always watch to see when it my be a good time to buy more. I could have made a nice profit had I sold when everything shot past $100, but I bought these shares to sit on, not to profit. I will keep them till the day I die. Probably pass them on to my kids, one day.

then my personal rule of "if it goes up a certain amount in 1 24 hour period, sell" took place last year, and I stepped out of the market with a tidy profit. I've been thinking about doing it again, but the price now vs. the price then is significantly different...

I don't own any but plan on buying ONE share for my next birthday. It will be fun to actually own even one share.

What about those of us who hold AAPL in virtual portfolios?

Unfortunatly because my portfolio's virtual, I haven't made the nice sum of money I would have made if I actually held real shares over the past couple weeks.

I have 100 shares of stock options from Apple. Just waiting for the right time to exercise them.

Last February, I sold 600 of something in the upper 40's for 1100 of something else, missing completely Apple's relatively low price. Had I bought in, I'd be worth approximately $45,000 more today.

I have mixed emotions regarding my Apple stock right now - I love Apple, however I shorted 500 shares @ 28.00. :) So right now I've made a lot of money thanks to the stock going down. I hate to cheer for Apple's stock to tank some more, but the lower it goes, the more money I make! ;) I'll probably take my nice sizeable profit in the next couple of days though, as I've already made almost $2.00/share. Hmm, maybe I can balance things out by at least buying a new iPod with my profits....

I'm a simpleton stock owner. I buy something, wait till it goes up quite a bit, then sell. Usually, I'm lucky.

Lucky you, I wanted to buy some when it was in the 13-14 range but just did not have any money to spare at the time.

Thought the same thing, but had the same problem. Bought 250 shares in the low 20's. 28 wasn't enough to entice me to sell quite yet.

Haven't made a profit off it since it was bought...

Where are those dividends?!

APPL is one of the worst investment someone can make. At least, if you want to make money...

They never give dividend and never buy back shares. These are the only two way the price of stock can go up. Any other variation int he price is purely speculation and doesnt reflect at all any possible money gain for the stock owner.

IMHO, Apple should have bought back 1b$ in share before announcing the ITMS. It would have reduced the amount of stock by about 20%, thus increasing the value. Then with the coming of the ITMS, the stock would have been at about 20% more right now... This is how company should work: What ever you say about Microsoft, you have to give them that they know how to reward their owner!

Personally, I would never buy Apple stock because I love the company too much. Whenever I buy a company's shares, they seem to always drop ;). So for the sake of my profits and Apple's market cap, I'm avoiding their stock like the plague

Yes I do. Will I ever sell? I dunno. I could sell now at a serious profit. But is it worth it for the tax hit? Probably not until my non-existant kids need to go to college.

I've actually shorted Apple stock a few times in the past few months with fairly good success, but once the election is over and the economy starts picking up again I may think of buying depending what the price is at. I've always been more of a trader than an investor. ;)

That's why is has gone from $12 to $35 in a year? :p ;) Nah, I agree with you, at least when it comes to the fundamentals - that's why I deal with Apple stock as more of a short term thing, doing the odd short as I indicated above... I have done the odd buy though as well...
