Dear forum users, I currently own a black MackBook (merom series). I just purchased a new unibody MacBook that is about to arrive in a week.

My question is: can I use the power adapter of my old MacBook with the new unibody MacBook? By doing so I would have a secondary power adapter for free.

Best regards

Alessandro

I'm pretty sure that you can - i've charged up my macbook on unibody and the old style chargers with no problems. The old adaptors make for good chargers at home, then take the new ones with you!

Enjoy your new mac!

Yes it's compatible.
Provided your old one is a MagSafe unit rated at 60W. And 85W for the MacBookPro 15" & 17"
