Apparently somebody's selling the "867-5309" on eBay.
And getting a whole darn lot of money too.
Damn. If I had registered that 30 years ago...:o

But think of all the prank phone calls.

"Hey, is Jenny there?"

Now, if you had your own business and a phone operator named Jenny, that'd be pretty neat.

They tried selling it once before on eBay though but Verizon pulled the auction claiming that they, not the customer, owned the number and couldn't sell it.

That's ridiculous, why on earth would you pay that kind of money for a phone number. Like a previous poster said. Its going to attract nothing but 1000s of prankcallers..... just what you need.
