View Full Version : Vista 32 in Boot Camp takes long to start.

I've had a Vista 32 PC and it booted pretty fast. I now have a fully loaded iMac (newest one available) and Vista takes abnormally long to start. OS X boots very fast, and once Vista is loaded, it runs normal, no problems.
I'm just wondering if there is a way to reduce the boot time, and why it would take longer to boot on this more powerful computer than my last generic PC, or if that's just a drawback of boot camp. Thanks.

Is it going through a bunch of command line stuff?
Anything about "partition table 80"?

I'm actually having the same problem any ideas why?
How do you stop the command lines at boot up?

Found it again! I once had this problem.

Choose "Reinstall Vista Bootloader"
Voila!

I'll try out the link you sent me in a bit.
And as for command line stuff, I don't see any. It just has a blinking underscore, then goes to the loading bar, then I type in my password, then it takes quite a while to get to desktop just showing the color of my desktop.
After that, everything is fine.

Oh. Well... that's normal. Seriously, that's how slow it goes everywhere. Don't run that program.
Unless you get the partition table 80 errors, don't run it.

Oh, OK I won't. But it booted much faster than this on my not nearly as fast custom built PC from a year ago, so something isn't right.
