Rogers and Fido have discontinued iPhone 3g and no longer sell any. After talking with a employee over the phone at Rogers about getting my money back for my discontinued iPhone 3g that I just purchased. The representative told me that new iPhones are expected within the next 3 months, so I cannot get a refund, I must go through Apple if a new iPhone comes out.
Check Rogers website, there is nothing about iPhone. The front page used to be covered in links to purchase or learn more. Now you cant find any links to iPhone

Wow. Here I thought we Americans were the only ones who thought we were owed anything we asked for. Selfish.

I still see it on the Fido website, next time research before you start spamming crap.

I don't think they would pull out a phone 3 months before a new one comes out. They would start selling all the leftovers.

Not like the Roger's page you linked to has "iPhone 3G" in the "More Information" Pane. Oh wait it does.

remember the OP's nickname, I always forget to check but his threads are somewhat useless and firestarters.

I know this is kind of early but what do the upgrade options look like for us? This has been my first phone so I don't know how these things work.

The answer I'm looking for is an example from when someone owned a blackberry and a new one came out the next year. Are we able to upgrade for a small fee or will we have to purchase a new phone + extend contract?

I don't think I could live with a second-rate iPhone.

Since you probably payed for a subsidized price iPhone and you would be paying for another subsidized one, the price would be similar to the one of the current 3g and there would be another contract to be signed. If it didn't work this way people would be buying hundreds of iPhones and selling them on ebay for double the subsidized price, and it already happens somehow..

Hi all. I just ordered my new iPhone and was all excited and wanted to post my "whoo hoo" here.

But now...slightly bummed. I mean...mac rumors are always swirling (haha), but how much do we think this one is true? Should I return the iPhone and wait til the summer? I really don't want to have a phone for 6 months and then want to buy the new one. I'd rather wait.

Advice?

You really are going to return and wait six months??
Yes, it's likely a new iPhone will be out in the summer.

Well my iPhone was a Christmas gift for X-Mas '07 but I chose to wait until July 11th for the 3G. Sometimes patience pays off. :D:)

This is really cool news if it is related to a new iPhone. I also noticed my AT&T store only has 1 iPhone on display. I'm not trying to excite people, it was just something I noticed because they still had the whole display thing set up but there were 5 empty docks and 1 iPhone.

lol...I just ordered it online from the premier site today so it hasn't even arrived. So *technically* I don't even have it yet. Will I miss what I don't have? probably not but I've been putting this off for so long...but if I keep it and a new one comes out this summer. I will be...unhappy. So maybe I wait 6 months and be ecstatic when the new one comes out ;).

Canceling the order tomorrow.

For one, I just looked at the Rogers site and it is still advertised as being "Now Available" Just because it's not emblazoned across the front page doesn't mean they don't sell it anymore, they just have something else to push.

Secondly, how would some minion at Rogers know 3 months in advance that a new iPhone is coming out when the employees at Apple apparently can't confirm or deny such a thing until they get the stuff in the store, nor can anyone else?

There are always rumours but I think we all know by now that they are just that: rumours.

I am so excited, now I will be able to get the new iphone 3G G5 dual core- with quad core technology available in diaper poo brown. I am so looking forward to checking out its removable non-removable battery, Bluetoothpick technology and awesome telescoping tripod for convienant car mounting (In canada it will be a royal canadian car mounting :D). Can't wait for the new cases.. because its not a new iphone unless all previous accessories are incompatible.

Oh, thank you so much for the entertainment. I went to the profile to see all the threads this user has started and had quite a laugh. Here's one example:

When driving or laying down it is near impossible to zoom in while browsing or to scroll in Coverflow. Because iPhone's screen is pressure sensitive, wouldn't it be neat to be able to zoom or scroll by blowing on the screen. Simply put screen close to mouth and blow. Is this possible?
