The release date for the sims 3 has been put back. I read the press release and it seems to imply at least to me that the sims 3 will be released on mac at the same time as pc. Do you lovely people read the same thing as me, or am I simply having wishful thinking?

If you click on the link for the artwork in the press release, a new cover design comes up that has the PC/Mac icon in the corner. Interesting that they waited so long to announce the other versions. I wonder how that will work out for folks that pre-ordered and if they'll still have the collector's edition? Will it be the hybrid version? I guess only time will tell. I'm bummed that the release date has been pushed back so far, but will be stoked if it is a simultaneous release on the same disc.

1st paragraph, The Sims 3 PC will ship to store shelves worldwide starting June 2, 2009.
This states the PC version will ship June 2, 2009, which implies a separate Mac version, with I would assume a later release date.

Actually the box now says PC and Mac. I think they're doing the decent thing like they did with spore.

Hallejuhla! :D Finally they stopped giving us :apple: mac :apple: fans a damn heart attack, and all it required was the frigging box art. Praise Jepus.
Edit: Oh, and Spore was a real let-down. I don't know about you guys, but the new in-depth expansion pack looks like it might mess up the general idea. Not only does it add random, out-of-text content (imo) to the main game, but it doesn't seem to help improve the realism originally planned for Spore. They should also try to make the galactic stage more attractive, as that's what everyone looks forward to. I just didn't find it to my liking when I first reached the space stage, maybe because my spaceship was ugly.
