Hi,
I just bought macbook air off ebay. Turns out it's from America, which the seller never specified. Anyway I have a few questions:

He gave me the original receipt for the laptop, and the superdrive. The superdrive is broken. Can I take it into an Apple UK store and get it repaired/replaced even though it was bought in the US?

What happens if anything goes wrong with the laptop- is it still covered under it's warrant in the UK?

Any help is appreciated,
thanks,
willl

The warranty is international. As long as you have proof of purchase, you're covered any way.

Until recently I bought almost all of my personal-use Apple notebooks from the US and I've never had problems with getting them (inevitably) Applecare'd.

However a replacement may be trickier to organise. I had much quibbling over two Airs - undoubtedly the most attractive yet useless computers I've owned in the last few years - that I decided not to bother pressing my UK Apple business people for a refund, but simply to dispose of them in other ways.

They will certainly fix it with a US receipt. This may include giving you a new superdrive and taking the broken one.
