Music Played On iPhone Stops Sporadically

When I'm playing music from my iPhone the music pauses periodically. Also, when I'm playing music from Pandora radio all of a sudden the iPod part of my iPhone will pause Pandora radio and start playing a song from the iPod side of my iPhone. Any ideas of what may be causing this?
