Not sure if its common knowledge, but with LED its possible to have one part of the screen to have its backlit off to emphasize on the contrast, while having other parts lit up.
Does the new Macbook/MBP pro support this? I have a 2.4ghz if it matters.

You're asking if you can have part of the screen off and part of the screen on???

:rolleyes: If you don't understand the question, and you have no idea as to the answer, why bother replying?? Read it again. He's not asking about the screen, he's asking about the backlighting. Are the LED's able to turn themselves off completely to improve contrast on dark screen areas? That is his question.
It's a technique used on newer LCD televisions with LED backlighting.
