Do you guys reckon the new main web page on Apples site -- the one showing the flattering photo of the G5, plus all the quotes extolling it's virtues, is an attempt to lube* us all up for the imminant release of Powermac upgrades??

What do YOU think??

*A lubed up punter has a harder time hanging on to the ol' credit card!! :p

They are droping a hint

They can't do the accidental specification thing again, so they advertise it long after it was out. Get your credit cards ready boys and girls.

Or maybe Apple is just worried because all of the "analysts" are worried about slumping G5 sales and are trying to promote it more. But we all know updates are just around the corner. Besides, what do analysts know?

Or maybe because there hasn't been much exciting going on (the only release lately I can think of off the top of my head is FileMaker, which few people care about) and they needed some change. This could actually mean that new G5's are still pretty far away, and that they don't want us to forget about them in the long wait.
