I have read the fix's and I am having no problems with 2.2, Yellowsn0w is working great and I am trying to figure out a reason to upgrade and reinstall everything all over again. Can anyone recommend this update or notice really any improvement?

I'm in the same boat as you. 2.2.1 doesn't have that many exciting features to give me a good reason to update. So I'm staying right where i am at.

If you're not unlocked 2.2.1 + re-jailbreak + AptBackUp took me like 20 minutes while sitting at my computer, so it wasn't much of a hassle for the fixes I got, but Im not looking to unlock anytime soon either.

I can't speak for everyone, but the 2.2.1 update has stopped Safari from crashing. I tried everything to get it to crash, but it has not happened since the update.

It fixes that blurry photo bug, so it was worth it for me. Other than that, I haven't noticed any changes.

That's the reason why I basically bothered. Although getting my apps back was simple with Aptbackup - I let it do it's thing, whilst I took a dump and made a coffee. 😀

To much information. But yes my safari hasn't crashed since upgrading and now and then its good to do a full jailbreak, keeps things snappier.

I've been holding off, but I'm going to do it tomorrow hopefully. My friend made me a custom IPSW (I'm not lucky enough to get a Mac) which wont update the baseband (I'm not bothered about unlock just yet, but when me free 12 months of data runs out I will be 😛).

I had been running on the original July 11th baseband so I needed to update that to the one from 2.2 anyways.

I backed up my Cydia stuff with AptBackup and then installed 2.2 stock firmware, then I use Pwnage on 2.2.1 and installed that. From there I tried AptBackup and it didn't work. It would just hang. I let it sit for a very long time and the screen would lock but I could hear the phone make noises if I hit lock or unlock... It was weird. So I just reinstalled the packages I wanted to keep. Kinda nice to have a clean start.

Phone does feel a little snappier though. 😛

+1 ^^^ No problems here with 2.2.1 and JB; it was nice to have aptbackup, so re-JB and the install of all my previous apps took all of ten minutes...😎
