Newbie Help Needed with Trash emptying issue

Hello all

First off, I am new to this forum and also a newbie to Macs, I have been a PC person for many years but have now gone Mac!!!

I am having a real issue fully emptying my TRASH, I have done a normal empty and secure empty but I get a message telling me that "The a cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of these items"

Can anyone help...?

In the trash folder, select any remaining items and right-click (or cmd-click) and choose 'get info'.

At the bottom section 'sharing and permissions', expand that area using the triangle. Click the padlock to authenticate and make sure your username has read&write permissions. If any say 'read only', you'll need to change to read/write before you can delete the file.
