So does the baseband update 02.30.03 (in firmware version 2.2.1) do anything useful?

It will be nice to find that out. I am still on 02.28.00, of course, this baby is all jailbroke.

The new baseband is to patch up yellowsn0w. Apple played a similar game with the Dev Team when the 1st Gen iPhone was being hacked/unlocked.
