Wyclef Jean was the musical guest on the Chappelle Show this past week and he played this great song I had never heard before. It started out with "If I was President, I'd be elected on Friday, assassinated on Saturday, buried on Sunday..."

Just wondering if anyone else has heard this song before and/or knows the name of it or where I could find it.

Thanks

An old man told me instead of spending...billions on the war
we could use that for the ghetto
Cuz I know folks so poor that when it rains thats when they shower, screaming fight the power.
something like that, It hit me so hard I have to hear it again...someone please respond!!!

Well, considering no one has replied with any information by now I'm guessing its not a song that has been released in the past. So we can either hope for a release in the future or hope for a savvy Tivo user that recorded the Chappelle show to share with us. If anyone is that savvy Tivo user, let us know :) .

Yeah that song kicks ass. Just like other Wyclef songs. My friend has it on Tivo, we watched it like 30 times. He's tring to get the audio off of it so if he does ill let you guys know. I haven't been able to find it anywhere even on Kazza. I would give it a few weeks and it will be all over the net.

What a great song!

Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you knows where I can find the lyrics to this song. I really need to know what Wyclef says after " Tell the children the truth, the truth. Christopher Colombus didnt discover America. Tell them the truth, the truth yea. Tell them about Marcus....." What does he say after that Marcus who? If anybody knows that would be great. Thanks!

I can't believe that a Wyclef song can be good, especially since everything I've heard of his after The Carnival has been dismal. Why did he cover, 'Wish You Were Here'....oh why.....Clef, why!!

"Wyclef played some more music from the boys, then cued up the first single from his own forthcoming Silent But Deadly LP, "If I Was President."
I got this from a musci guide website. Hope it helps!

This is sweet - thanks! I love Wyclef's acoustic songs. I have a cover of Knockin' on Heaven's Door (on iTunes) that I love too...has a very spiritual groove. And the cover of No Woman, No Cry from The Score is one I love too.

If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assasinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president

An old man told me, instead of spending billions on the war,
we can use some of that money, in the ghetto.
I know some so poor, they use the spring as the shower,
when screaming "fight the power".
That's when the vulture devoured

[chorus]
If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assasinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president...
If I was president...
If I was president

But the radio won't play this.
They call this rebel music.
How can you refuse it, children of moses?

[chorus]
If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assasinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If i was president

Tell the children the truth, the truth.
Christopher Columbus didn't discover America.
Tell them the truth.
The truth
YEAH! Tell them about Marcus Garvey.
The truth YEAH! The truth.
Tell them about Martin Luther King.
Tell them the truth.
The Truth.
Tell them about JFK

If I was President
[chorus]
If I was president,
I'd get elected on Friday, assasinated on Saturday,
and buried on Sunday.

If I was president...
If I was president

Which, actually, is a very good reason why you do not need to post them here! Twice! ;) :D

I do love Wyclef, though. I'm glad you do, too. :)

Hm. Am I the only one here who thought that song was lame?
