I'm trying to decide whether or not to upgrade from CS3 to CS4 at work. From what I've read, PS and ID aren't all that different but AI (which I use a lot) is dramatically better. What about DW though?

Can anyone with a decent amount of experience with both CS3 and CS4 give me a quick compare/contrast? I use DW a lot, so if it's truly better that (and the new AI) would probably make upgrading the whole suite worth the money.

I have not noticed that it is much better, but I make little use of the areas that they have upgraded.

I do not use the "live" wysiwyg view ever, so their new engine is worthless to me.

I also use firebug heavily, and just haven't gotten into using the new Code navigator.

I found I quite liked the upgrade to Photoshop CS4 -- I noticed the hardware acceleration right away -- and Flash more than any other programs in the suite.

Don't waste your money on an upgrade (if that's your thing). Panic's CODA (@ their website.. panic.com) is your best bet for an all-in-one no-frills editor. Dreamweaver is for Windows users :).

Wow that really does look like a great program. Thanks for the tip.
