Absolutely Apple will repair/replace the Mighty Mouse for you for the full duration of your coverage should it fail due to defective hardware. This (http://www.apple.com/uk/support/serviceassistant/overview.html) would be a good place for you to start.

Are you sure that the ball thing is broken? My friend thought that his ball thing was broken and brought it to nearest apple reseller they just cleaned it, and it gets dirty and isn't working then

Sounds like you just need to clean your mighty mouse (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1537). ;)

Keep one and then sell the other to get your money back.

The second one for sure isn't working, but the first (original one) is just the ball, it won't scroll down and sometimes it wont scroll up either so i just take it back if it needs cleaning they can do it, but do they charge for these?

Of course not. Cleaning takes few seconds.

As mentioned, no, there will never be any charge for service of your iMac and it's peripherals under warranty.

I've heard some say that vigorously rubbing the Mighty Mouse trackball while holding it upside down can sometimes dislodge something that's causing it to not scroll properly. You might want to give it a try before bringing it to the Apple Store.

The trackball and the surfaces it rides on become contaminated with body oils mixed with dirt. It causes slippage between the trackball and its optic wheels underneath.

A good solution to clean the trackball components, without dismantling the mouse, begins with the following:

1. Freshly washed dry hands 2. Common household isopropyl alcohol 3. A q-tip cotton swab, 4. Clean lint free cloth.

Lightly touch a q-tip dipped in alcohol to the trackball, making it roll in all directions. Be careful not to allow q-tip fibers to be caught in the trackball.

Immediately following, press and roll vigorously the trackball with a clean finger in all directions working in the alcohol to break up contaminates on both the trackball and the surfaces it rides on underneath.

Immediately next, roll the ball around while pressing on a clean lint free cloth till dry.

Repeat the process.
