Missing Dock

anyone know a way that I can get my dock back? It isn't hidden or anything. I had Finder crash on me and then my dock disappeared and hasn't come back. Any ideas?

It's possible that the Dock process has locked up as well, go into Utilities and open the Activity Monitor and search for the process named "Dock."

If it has locked up it should be in red, either way force quit that and it should reload on its own.
 
thanks for answering so quickly, but when I force quit dock it just stays open and won't quit.
